Project Description

The client’s goal was to replace a derelict man-made pond with a natural swimming pool. Freddy’s worked closely with Artemis Landscape Architects to create a new design that maintained the classic pond feel, but with an update contemporary look. This project is the first BioNova^® Natural Swimming Pool built in Fairfield County. The shallow end of the swimming zone features a beach entry, flip wall and entertaining terrace. An ipe boardwalk runs the length of the pool, providing interaction with the adjacent shallow plant regeneration area, connecting to the deep-water plant regeneration area designed as a lily pond. This features “floating” bluestone stepping stones, one as a diving board into the 9′ deep swimming zone.
